2017 William E. Kahlert Memorial Golf Tournament

On Saturday,  February 25th, 2017, in conjunction with the 2017 IIAR Natural Refrigeration Conference &  Heavy Equipment Expo, the Ammonia Refrigeration Foundation is hosting the second annual William E. Kahlert Memorial Golf Tournament.  The Tournament will be held at the Quarry Golf Course in San Antonio, TX.  The winner of this tournament will not only take home the bragging rights that he or she is the best golfer throughout the IIAR and ARF community, but they will also gain possession of the ARF Bill Kahlert Memorial Golf Trophy. Engraved with the winning team's name, this trophy is intended to be proudly displayed by the winner and defended at the next tournament.

Levels of Participation

Tournament Brackets:  There are two brackets of competition, each of which will have tournament winner.
Entry fees for all players include: Greens and cart fees, post competition invitation to the IIAR VIP Reception, drink tickets and prizes.

Golf Club Rentals are available. You must reserve them prior to play and pay for them on day of the event.

President's Bracket - $2,500 per foursome
  • Designed for the serious golfer 
  • Corporate sponsored foursomes
  • Includes one hole sponsorship with signage per company
  • Winning company receives the ARF tournament trophy with company name engraved. The winning company will retain the trophy until the following year's tournament. Subsequent year's winners will have company names engraved and retain trophy for one year.

Open Competition Bracket - $375.00 per golfer

  • Individual participation entry
  • Designed for the casual golfer
  • Four player teams will be assigned by the ARF Golf Committee based on handicap or by request.

 8:30 am   First wave of buses will depart Grand Hyatt San Antonio..

 11:15 am  Buses will depart from the Grand Hyatt San Antonio for all IIAR Board Members - IIAR Board Meeting will be held prior to the event
 11:45 am   Shot-Gun Start of Tournament
 6:00 pm  Buses Depart for return to the Grand Hyatt San Antonio
 7:00 PM  IIAR VIP Reception
Tournament Format - Two Low Ball Shamble

This year’s tournament will be a four-man scramble. In this format, each team’s players hit from the teebox, then the team members choose the best of the four shots for the next shot. All team members then play the second shot from that location, and again choose the best shot. Play continues in this manner until the hole is completed.
