DESCRIPTION
This IIAR member webinar will examine an issue familiar to anyone who’s been involved in the cold storage industry: optimization of rack freezing systems. Join us for an informative session that will look at the components of “continuous” vs “batch” pallet freezing. “Blast cells” by design lend themselves exclusively to being used in a “batch” type process. Users typically will load the cell, close the door and return when the cycle is complete. On the other hand, a “single-deep” rack arrangement utilized by in-rack freezing systems offers some flexibility in that the user can take advantage of continuous loading and unloading of positions. This presentation will review how users can best utilize an in-rack system to support continuous loading/unloading as well as how to maximize product turns through the system.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
After attending this session, participants will be able to:
• Discuss strategies for increasing product throughput in their facilities
• Demonstrate the relationship between increased product throughput and reduced labor and operating costs within a cold storage facility
