Future-Proof Your Refrigeration System with the Latest Danfoss Innovations

Danfoss continues innovating in valve and controls technology with the introduction of the industry’s largest range of valve stations, the ICF Flexline™ family.  Flexline™ includes valves at ½” through 2½” in size.

To compliment these valve stations, Danfoss continues to transform the industry by offering longer life span and more controllability by including stainless steel options and the widest range of control features including solenoids, mechanical regulators, motorized valves, and two step gas powered valves.

Presenter:
Brian Hendricks has been in the industrial refrigeration industry for 22 years. Brian joined Danfoss in 2016 coming from a background as Director of Engineering with a design build contractor. With the support of Danfoss, Brian is a frequent contributor and member of many national and   international industrial refrigeration industry groups, and associations, that focus on innovation and the desire to drive the industry to a better tomorrow.

Colmac Coil Manufacturing  Technomercial #4
12:30 pm - 1:00 pm
Shortening Freezing Times and Improving Products Quality for Blast Freezing Facilities
Shortening freezing times and improving product quality are high priorities for blast freezing facilities. Recent installations utilizing Colmac reversing airflow evaporator technology have demonstrated freezing times as much as 20% shorter than conventional evaporator designs with more uniform product temperatures and reduced moisture loss. Three case studies using Colmac reversing airflow technology will be presented. Blast freezing sardines and calamari squid; tunnel freezing 1.2 million pounds of salmon /day; and batch freezing boxed and palletized chicken.

Frick Industrial Refrigeration Technomerical #5
1:15 pm - 1:45 pm

Low Charge Central Systems

Frick will introduce their new LCCS (Low Charge Central System) product line.  This new approach to ammonia refrigeration gives the benefit of low ammonia charge while retaining the flexibility, efficiency, and ease of service of a central engine room for the compressors. Low charge is achieved by distributing condensing to the point of use, with virtually no liquid refrigerant in the plant, other than locally at the evaporators where it will be used. Energy efficiency is achieved through industry-leading Frick Controls and the most efficient compressors on the market. Come and hear about a novel approach to low charge ammonia systems.

Trimming Energy Costs & Optimizing Efficiency - The Role of Piston Compressors
Piston compressor packages, used as trim-load machines, can be effectively integrated with screw compressor systems to maximize efficiency and reduce energy costs, based on their system fine-tuning abilities, superior part-load efficiency and precise modulation. In Europe, GEA has applied this approach with excellent results. Learn how you can also apply this technology and benefit from its significant advantages.

Vilter Manufacturing Technomercial #9
10:30 am- 11:00 am
150 Years of Compressor Innovation Leads to the First Trans-critical CO2 Rotary Screw Compressor
In its 150th Anniversary year, Vilter continues to lead the industry in compressor innovation. In 1990 Vilter introduced the first VSS single screw. From this platform, Vilter has been able to pioneer applications of the technology for use in ammonia heat pumps, high pressure gas compression and sub-critical CO2 refrigeration. Today, Vilter is testing the first rotary screw compressor capable of the pressure required to achieve Transcritical CO2 compression.  From the Corliss slide-valve steam engines of the 1860’s to the VMC440 reciprocating compressors in 1945 and single screw compressors since 1990, Vilter continues its commitment to innovation and the refrigeration industry.
Presenter:
Antonio De Lourdes is the senior project engineer (R&D), Vilter Manufacturing for Emerson Climate Technologies. In this role, he is responsible for developing Vilter’s total CO2 solution for the industrial marketplace. He is the lead product engineer for Vilter’s reciprocating compressors and possesses more than five years of career industrial refrigeration experience. Antonio has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in new product development from the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
