Specialist Certificate Program ANR-S


The IIAR founded the Academy of Natural Refrigerants to address the industry need for specialized education courses for professionals working in the ammonia and natural refrigerants community. The ANR Certificate courses are designed to help refrigeration professionals expand their knowledge and obtain valuable professional development hours through a documentedtraining program.

Now, IIAR is pleased to offer the new Academy of Natural Refrigerants — Specialist (ANR-S) certificate program offering a comprehensive online course of study that will lead to a new industry credential for professionals working in the refrigeration industry. The ANR-S certificate is intended to provide all sectors of our industry with a comprehensive learning experience that will build their professional credentials while addressing the growing regulatory demands for documented education in Standards, Safety and Engineering Design.

To achieve the ANR-S certificate, professionals working in the industry will be required to complete specific course modules plus electives within the Academy of Natural Refrigerants in three areas of study including:

  • ANSI/IIAR Standards
  • Process Safety and Risk Management
  • Basic Engineering Design
The ANR-S credential will offer End-Users, Contractors, Engineers, Equipment Manufacturers and others working in the refrigeration industry a new and progressive method to build their professional credentials through an  ducation program provided by the IIAR Academy of Natural Refrigerants and recognized for professionals continuing education.

Professionals working to achieve the ANR-S comprehensive certificate will be allowed a five-year period of time to complete the required curriculum of study. The ANR-S credential will remain current for professionals as long as periodic course updates are completed.

The Academy of Natural Refrigerants will also offer a “Specialist” certificate in ANSI/IIAR Standards and Process Safety courses of study. Professionals that would prefer to obtain an ANR “Specialist” credential specific to these areas of study may achieve this certificate by completing five courses from one of the categories including all required courses.
