Permit to Work: Electrical Safety & Arc Flash Protection

Wednesday, November 13, 2019 11:00 AM- 12:00 PM EST

OVERVIEW

Electrical Safety and Arc Flash Protection help ensure the control of hazardous energy during servicing and maintenance where employees may be exposed to unexpected energization, startup, or release of stored energy from deenergized machines, equipment, or parts or from live parts that are not deenergized for reasons of increased or additional hazards or due to infeasibility.

This webinar will examine the importance of Electrical Safety and Arc Flash Prevention regulatory requirements and cover application criteria for their implementation. We will also explore Electrical Safety and Arc Flash Protection as a safe work practice.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

After participating in this activity, learners will be able to:
  • Review and gain an understanding of the regulatory requirements for Electrical Safety and Arc Flash Prevention.
  • Understand how Electrical Safety and Arc Flash Prevention are applied to control exposure to electrical hazards while servicing and maintaining deenergized or energized machines, equipment, and parts.
  • Recognize Electrical Safety and Arc Flash Protection as a Safe Work Practice “Culture”.
