Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP) are written documents intended for use in the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of process equipment. There has been a move in the ammonia refrigeration industry towards standardization, yet there are historical variants which often cause confusion.

This session will offer an historical analysis of notable RAGAGEP variants such as, but not limited to, machinery room ventilation, ammonia detection, relief valve termination, and labeling. We’ll discuss the importance of adhering to IIAR standards by exploring multiple variants in historical RAGAGEP related to ammonia refrigeration. It will give RMP/PSM responsible persons an understanding in how their processes adhere (or not) to RAGAGEP standards, along with documentation best practices to maintain compliant programs.

After participating in this webinar, participants will…

  • Understand the origin and meaning of RAGAGEP
  • Recognize practical variants in historical RAGAGEP
  • Understand the importance of IIAR 9 and the Minimum System Safety Evaluation
